The fact is that our visit to the dentist is only sometimes pleasant. 

But why is this happened  and how can it be changed?  

Did you know about it? 

Did you know that the experience of fear is imprinted in our DNA from the primitive period of human evolution? It has proven life-saving in dealing with survival situations involving food gathering, natural hazards, disasters and wars, invasions of other races, and reproduction. 

In these threat situations, survival instincts are mobilized. They are genetically programmed tendencies that are related to the unconscious part of the brain and, when mobilized, result in certain behaviours such as: 

• Fight: Need to attack. 
• Flight: Wanting to flee the place/situation we are in. 
• Numbness: Physical, in the body, or mental. Suddenly, we can’t react.
• Emotional disconnect. 
• Tendency to vomit. 
• Fainting. 
• Surrender: We surrender the weapons. 

So when a person experiences a threat, these automatic tendencies become active. They then set the stage for intense emotions, blockages, and symptoms to express themselves in the physical body. 

This is precisely what happens when we feel fear during a dental visit. 

What does the dentist have to do with it? 

The dentist is a reflection of our parents’ care and guardianship. They care for our teeth as our parents cared for us in childhood by fulfilling our needs for safety, nourishment, warmth, love, and support. 

The dentist enters the mouth, representing an intensely charged private space connected to our development and vital functions.  

Strong emotions associated with early childhood, such as: 

• Oppression 
• Violence 
• Rejection 
• Physical or verbal abuse 
• Abandonment or verbal abuse may re-emerge during treatment and mobilize survival instincts that, in turn, block the therapeutic process.
   

A person who feels betrayed or did not receive adequate care from their parents tends to replicate a similar experience in their relationship with their dentist.  

How many people aren’t desperately searching for the ideal dentist who will take on the task of restoring their teeth and smile? The persistence or anger accompanying some of their demands on the treating dentist indicates that patients expect too much from them. 

It is natural and comforting to hope that by opening our mouths, the dentist will heal and relieve us of pain. We are justified in seeking the care of a competent and skillful dentist.

But are we not aware that the dentist who takes us on reflects our relationship with our parents, the traumas of our childhood, the choices we make, and the way we treat ourselves?  

The person who is suffering from problems with their teeth will seek a dentist who will try to save their teeth. 

But will there be a savior dentist or does the treatment start with the patient first?

The way each person  approaches the treatment is crucial. Finding a “good” dentist requires understanding how we treat ourselves and accepting to look pain in the face without running away.  

Often, just changing our behavior and the realizations we make brings a trusted person on our path who will help us with understanding and respect. Is it luck or coincidence? 

Are we ready to care for our wounds and attract the appropriate healing dentist?

If we remain locked into self-destructive patterns, we attract dentists who treat us poorly or leave us dissatisfied. Consequently, the dentist turns from savior to tormentor, and we experience a victim – perpetrator relationship. 

A medical error does not happen accidentally, even if it results from the dentist’s clumsiness or negligence. It performs a tension related to our experiences and beliefs.  

In some ways, the medical error is similar to the trauma that surfaces to remind us of our experience as children with rejection, the violation of our boundaries, abuse, and our desperate need for love, support, and respect. 

Through their relationship with the dentist, the patient tries to settle accounts with his parents, father, or mother. 

Do these emotions we feel in visiting the dentist, and our expectations for restoration help us connect with our inner self? 

Have you ever wondered if they might help us realize what acceptance and healing mean at all levels of our being? 

Can we choose the appropriate dental therapist and build a relationship of trust and mutual respect? 

The premise above will lead us from accepting and loving ourselves to healing and restoring abnormal conditions in our mouths. 

Did you know that the alignment of our teeth also affects the alignment of our spine and the maintenance of upright posture? 

The field of holistic dentistry recognizes that the balance of the body is determined by the Cranio-dental-sacral complex, which consists of our skull, dental cavity and teeth, and spine and sacrum. Dr. James Carlson observed that parallel relationships in the human skeletal system allow it to maintain balance. 

These relationships concern the parallel planes created by imaginary lines running through the position of the ears, eyes, upper jaws, shoulders, elbows, knees, and pelvis. 

Do you know that teeth are considered sensory organs, according to the new holistic view? 

When there is a toothache or a crooked tooth, an imbalance is created in the mouth muscles in their effort to complete chewing and swallowing. Thus, they direct this action to one side to avoid pain. This results in an imbalance in the powers of the neck, neck, shoulders, and the entire body’s musculoskeletal structure. 

Because, as we know, everything is connected in the human body. 

A problem in the closure, as well as in KD, indicates difficulties in the person’s behavior due to the limiting beliefs and beliefs that structure his personality, which loses its coherence, coherence, and unity. The head wants to go one way, the body the other, and the teeth struggle to find their place. Abnormal development of the upper and lower jaw also leads to crooked teeth. 

Simply put, the jawbones are the bases where the teeth must grow. 

The upper and lower jaws are like the concrete base of the seats in a stadium. If the cement has deteriorated or the base is too small, the seats cannot be placed in aligned rows. They end up crowding or sticking out. 

  

Because the skull bones are so closely connected, a deformity in the upper jaw can cause problems in other areas of the face and skull, such as the eye sockets and nasal sinuses. If the upper jaw is not developed naturally, the eye sockets can be distorted, leading to vision problems such as astigmatism or myopia. 

In addition, it becomes difficult to take in oxygen when the nose and nasal cavities are deformed. This deficiency can damage the heart muscle, brain tissue, and potentially every cell in the body. 

In summary, each of us must enter the following: 

• On the path of self-awareness, 
• Understanding oneself and one’s emotions as well 
• Proper management of his critical interpersonal relationships. 

Did you know that the gums are part of our natural boundary with the outside world in the mouth area? 

We have all come across some of the annoying gum symptoms, such as: 

• Pain, 
• Bad breath, 
• Difficulty chewing and swallowing. 

It is often an unpleasant situation that can cause severe psychological and social problems such as shame, isolation, anxiety, and insecurity and affect our interpersonal relationships. 

The gums form a protective barrier for the mouth and teeth

The gums have the same function as the skin, which is a functional barrier that surrounds and protects the human body so that it can adapt to various conditions. Like that, our gums are a perfectly constructed protective structure that serves the body’s vital functions. 

Dams, as we all know, are mechanical constructions that block, slow down or give another direction to the flow of water. Our gums are perfectly designed vibration deflection and collection barriers. 

They protect our teeth by: 

• They prevent bacteria and food residues 
• Enter between the root of the tooth and the jawbone 
• They facilitate chewing and swallowing, the first stage of digestion, and the harmonious pronunciation of speech. 

How do our gums relate to our boundaries? 

Our boundaries are the mechanism that helps us separate ourselves from others, maintain our integrity, and take responsibility for ourselves. This way, we are protected from hacking, exploitation, and manipulation. 

They are the guardian angel of our integrity

Because of the education and societal norms we’ve grown up in, we likely haven’t learned how to set healthy boundaries. Maybe because we fear rejection and confrontation, or we have grown up in an environment of guilt. 

Our gums absorb vibrations from solid emotions expressed by words full of tension, aggression, bitterness, or even hatred. Other times they have yet to be told. Therefore, they pool without being said in the mouth and are absorbed by the tissues, ultimately changing their biology and biochemistry. 

Levels of boundaries and how they are breached

The natural level 

Physical boundaries refer to respecting the body, our physical contact with others, and our personal space. They are violated when someone touches us or invades our personal space against our will. 

The spiritual level 

Spiritual boundaries refer to our way of thinking and our ideology. They demand respect for opinions and are violated when someone ignores or underestimate our thoughts and ideas. 

The emotional level 

Emotional boundaries refer to our emotions and include restrictions on where, when, and with whom we will share personal information and who we will allow to affect us emotionally. They are violated when one ignores, underestimate, criticizes, or taunts another’s feelings. 

The sexual level 

Sexual boundaries refer to all areas of sexuality (emotional, verbal, physical approach). Healthy sexual boundaries involve mutual understanding and respect for desires and limitations between two partners. They are violated when someone receives unwanted touching, sexual comments, solicitations to participate in sexual acts they do not want, and sexual innuendos. 

The material level 

Material boundaries refer to our money and possessions. They are violated when someone steals, destroys, or extorts someone else’s property. 

The time level 

Time boundaries refer to how we divide our time and are violated when one person demands too much of another’s time. 

What is caused by violating our boundaries? 

When human boundaries are violated, our gums: 

• Start to create inflammation. 
• React 
• Are bleeding
• Are recending, destroyed, showing imbalances in their structure and biochemistry. 

Memories are mobilized from various traumas we have experienced such as: 

• Accidents and natural disasters 
• Wars 
• Physical and emotional abuse 

Trauma is a wound, a rift that tears and fragments the human psyche. 

Mental injury is a highly negative phenomenon in a person’s life, with significant and lasting effects on his functionality. In cases where the individual has dissociated from the traumatic experience, the trauma is often disguised as phobias, anxiety, and negative beliefs about self and life. Behind every visible symptom, there is always a mental trauma lurking. 

When the scars become inflamed, they swell and bleed. From a symbolic point of view, they are trying to convey messages using body language. 

By swelling them, they increase the thickness of the protective barrier to create a cushion capable of absorbing and intercepting the vibrations of intense emotions that are not externalized. 

For example, a person with bleeding or sore gums:

• Is by nature susceptible, 
• Doesn’t know how to say no and lets his emotions take over, 
• Is hurt very deeply and very quickly, as they do not distance themselves from the looks or judgment of others and 
• Their environment influences them. 

Our psychological trauma is, therefore, the underlying cause of the feeling of insecurity, anxiety, anger, uncertainty, and loss of control. 

When the mouth is silent, the body screams; it hurts and thus reacts to the battle within it.  

What does the holistic approach to dentistry offer us?

The psychodynamic holistic approach to teeth is the method of diagnosis and treatment through which I connect all pathologies of the mouth and teeth with the internal organs and tissues of the body, but also with the beliefs, beliefs, and emotions of the person. 

It helps us expand the horizons of our perceptive ability to gain intelligence in managing the pathological conditions in our body and mouth, recognizing the natural causes. 

This way, we will mobilize the self-healing abilities we all have to speed up our healing.

Sometimes, we might experience localized pain or disproportionately increased muscle tone. That contains neurological symptoms, such as:

How does it work

Possible oral electroplating problems

Electric currents and ionic flow between dental alloys irritate the trigeminal nerve, the primary cranial nervous system. They block the flow of the leading acupuncture meridians, which can, in turn, lead to more significant dysfunction throughout the body. 

Electroplating can cause or contribute to physical conditions such as: 

• Epilepsy 
• Hearing loss

• Lack of concentration and memory 
• Vertigo
• Pain in the mouth

Additionally, galvanizing can cause: 

• Headaches, 
• Unpleasant metallic taste in the mouth, 
• fainting spells, 
• Motion sickness, 
• Burning sensation in the tongue and 
• Unusual dry mouth. 

Medicines may relieve some of these symptoms. The best solution seems to be to remove the material and replace it with a more biocompatible material, especially considering that long-term use of drugs can have serious side effects. 

How to recognize galvanization 

When mercury fillings are close to gold crowns, the mercury released into the body can be up to ten times higher. A visible warning sign of galvanization is corrosion of the metal at the mouth. This corrosion results in the leaching of metal ions into the body, which can cause allergic or pathogenic disorders. 

In cases of gold or amalgam fillings, signs of oxidation are strong indicators of galvanization, leading to the release of heavy metals into the body. 

Aggravation of diseases and possible solutions

Once different dental minerals release into the body through electroplating, trauma or corrosion, they are attracted to other tissues in the human body. 

For example, the mercury will migrate to the brain, joints and kidneys. Beryllium, used in dental alloys, will deposit in the liver and kidneys. 

Dental adhesives and paints contain cadmium which is known to accumulate in the liver and kidneys. Accordingly, nickel is deposited in the skin, central nervous system, as well as in lungs and kidneys. 

Biological dentistry is concerned with helping patients regain overall good health and wellness, and we look for anything that may be disrupting the immune system.
